Travel Insurance

Travel insurance is not included in your tour cost and is the choice/responsibility of each participant to purchase separately. Insurance is highly recommended (but not mandatory) to cover certain unexpected circumstances and/or losses. You can purchase travel insurance from any other company of your choice. Here are some companies to consider and compare:

Notes on Travel Insurance:

  1. Usually, there are benefits to purchasing the policy within 14 days of making the initial payment on the tour (such as a deposit). These benefits may include waiver of pre-existing medical conditions exclusion and optional add-ons.
  2. Call the insurance company and ask if it is possible to initially insure only the deposits and then add coverage/premium when you purchase domestic airline tickets and/or when final payment is made on the tour.
  3. Scopia LLC cannot advise you about which policy to purchase or optional coverages. For questions, please contact the insurance company directly.
  4. Scopia LLC serves only as an agent of the insurance company for the purpose of offering participants the option of purchasing insurance. Any decisions about claims are at the sole discretion of the insurance company. Scopia LLC can provide participants with available documentation to support a claim.
  5. Insurance costs may not be reimbursed by the travel insurance company in case of cancellation of the tour or in case of filing a claim. Scopia LLC is not responsible nor liable for any financial decisions by the insurance company.
